WELCOME TO SUSTAINABLE HOSPITALITY GROUP
Planet, People, Profit

Sustainable Hospitality Group is committed to making a difference in the hospitality industry.
We are able to offer our hospitality clients a comprehensive range of products and services to help create customized sustainability and environmental solutions that serve the guest, the organization, and the planet. We focus on working with people and organizations that are genuinely committed to real progress with respect to sustainable development.

We believe that the integration of sustainability into core business operations is inevitable. We show our hospitality clients how to generate business value today - reducing risk, reducing costs, increasing revenues, and creating strong brands by building sustainability into their business strategies for the long term. The shift to integrating sustainability as a core value to an organization is a cultural one which must be genuinely and authentically embraced by the whole organization if it is to be enduring.

GREENING YOUR HOTEL / GREEN HOSPITALITY TODAY
Many hoteliers, from boutiques to international chains, have become pioneers of the hospitality industry by creating environmental and social programs in alignment with their brands. These programs produce measurable and compelling results, such as a decrease in operating costs, employee and guest loyalty, reduced environmental impact, and increased market share due to consumer demand for environmentally friendly products and services.

A company that makes a commitment to sustainability can produce convincing results. A few examples include Kimpton Hotels’ EarthCare program, Fairmont Hotels’ Green Partnership program, Hilton International and Scandic’s HER (Hilton Environmental Reporting) program, Marriott’s ECHO (Environmentally Conscious Hospitality Operations) program, and Shangri-La's Preserving Nature program. In addition, there are hundreds of examples of independent hotels, small chains, and meeting/conference facilities that have successfully integrated sustainability programs into their business operations.

In 1979, there were an estimated 18,500 landfills in the nation. In 1990 there were only about 6,300, and by 1995 it was estimated that only about 3,000 would still be open. In just 16 years the number of landfills dropped by 84%. During that same time there was an 80% increase in the amount of trash generated.
